Project “Design a prototype of a wide-bandwidth digital miniature USB oscilloscope for measuring the parameters of PAM-4 waveforms (GIGATEST)”

Project name: Design a prototype of a wide-bandwidth digital miniature USB oscilloscope for measuring the parameters of PAM-4 waveforms (GIGATEST).

Project No.: 13.1.1-LVPA-K-856-01-0099

The beginning of the project: 2020-09-01

Сompletion of the project: 2023-06-30

Financing: The project is financed according to the 2014-2020 European Union Structural Funds (European Regional Development Fund) investment action program No. 01.2.1-LVPA-K-856 “Experiment”. Funded as part of the European Union’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The purpose of the project: To increase the company’s competitiveness and expansion of opportunities by designing a wide-bandwidth digital miniature USB oscilloscope for measuring the parameters of PAM-4 waveforms and by expanding the company’s R&D infrastructure.

Project description and expected results: The main activity of the closed joint-stock company “ELTESTA” is production of high value-added products, i.e. modern oscilloscopes and R&D activities necessary for their design. The oscilloscopes designed by the company are not inferior to, and often in certain respects surpass, the products of the world’s largest manufacturers of testing and measuring instruments. In order to maintain and strengthen the acquired competitiveness, the company aims to regularly introduce new, more advanced products to the market. The knowledge and high competence of the closed joint-stock company “ELTESTA” in the field of oscilloscope design provide favorable conditions for the development of new competitive products. The goal of the project is the creation a prototype of a wide-bandwidth digital USB oscilloscope for measuring the parameters of PAM-4 waveforms, testing 50G, 100G, 200G and 400G communication networks. During the project, it is planned to create advanced testing and measuring equipment, which would stand out from the analogues on the market with high technical parameters, small dimensions and a lower price. The project includes the following R&D activities: creation and verification of individual parts (prototyping) of the USB oscilloscope, creation, testing and evaluation of the prototype.
